Dalera was born on 23 April 2007 in the village of Thomm in Germany; the result of a mating between the Trakehner stallion Easy Game (from the Gribaldi line, the same bloodline that later also produced the legendary Totilas) and the mare Dark Magic, daughter of Handryk, from the historical maternal line “Skadi” in the Trakehner breed. Her breeder was Silke Druckenmüller, and later Beatrice Bürchler-Keller, a Swiss dressage judge and breeder, bought her and added the prefix “BB” to her name; while the German Trakehner Association (Trakehner Verband), after showing exceptional talent in young horse classes, including victory in the Louisdor-Preis final, granted her the prefix “TSF”.

Jessica von Bredow-Werndl took the reins of Dalera and they followed a calm but steady path; from regional M-level classes in 2013 to reaching international Grand Prix competitions in 2017 and 2018. The first peak of this journey came at the Tryon World Equestrian Games in the USA in 2018, where the pair won team gold.

From 2019 onward, the duo became virtually unbeatable. At the Rotterdam European Championships, they won team gold and individual freestyle bronze with their signature freestyle to the music of “La La Land”. Then at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games, which were held a year late because of the pandemic, Dalera and Jessica won both team gold and individual freestyle gold; with a stunning score of 91.73 percent, the second-highest score in Olympic dressage freestyle history, surpassed only by the record of Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro in 2016. This was the first time the pair had broken the 90 percent barrier at the international level.

Only a few weeks later, at the Hagen European Championships, Dalera swept all three available gold medals—team, Grand Prix Special, and freestyle. This dominance continued in the following years: the FEI World Cup Final championships in Leipzig in 2022 and in Omaha in 2023, and defending the European title in Riesenbeck with a new personal best of 92.82 percent in freestyle, along with team silver.

The unmatched peak of Dalera’s career came at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games; where, at 17 years old, she repeated the very same Tokyo miracle: team gold and, one day later, individual gold. This achievement introduced Dalera and Jessica von Bredow-Werndl as the first horse-and-rider pair since Valegro and Charlotte Dujardin to have conquered two consecutive Olympic cycles with such dominance. Dalera held the FEI world number one dressage ranking continuously from September 2021 to August 2024.

In January 2025, Dalera bid an emotional farewell with a freestyle at the CHI Classics Basel and retired from professional competition at the age of 17; before that, in September 2024, a star in her name had also been placed on the CHIO Aachen “Wall of Honor”. She now continues her life as a broodmare; after mating with the stallion Vitalis, she gave birth to her first foal—a black filly named Dolce Vita BB—on 9 March 2026 in her home stable in Aubenhausen, Germany, thus beginning a new chapter as the founding mother of the next generation of Trakehner sport horses.
