Among the grasslands of Belgium, in the spring of 2010, a bay colt was born whose name would, for years, shine on the boards of the world’s biggest Arabian…

Emerald J was bred by Christine Jamar, the renowned Belgian breeder and owner of Jadem Arabians. His pedigree blended two distinguished and different lines of the purebred Arabian breed: his sire, QR Marc, World, Abu Dhabi, Dubai International and All Nations' Cup champion and son of the influential stallion Marwan Al Shaqab; and his dam, Emandoria, a mare from the “E” line of the Michałów State Stud in Poland and daughter of Emanda by Gazal Al Shaqab, herself a World, All Nations Cup, Europe and U.S. National champion, Arabian Breeders' World Cup champion, Polish National champion and Best in Show, and the first mare in history to win the Dubai International championship twice.

Emerald J’s show-ring journey began in his early years. In 2011 he was ranked among the world’s top ten junior stallions at Salon du Cheval in Paris, reached the top five junior stallions at the All Nations Cup in Aachen, shone in the same division at the Championnat de la Méditerranée et des Pays Arabes in Menton, France, and won the junior stallion championship at the Internationale Tage des Arabischen Pferdes in Ströhen, Germany.

2012 was a year full of honors for him; at the Elran Cup in Belgium and the Al Khalediah festival in Saudi Arabia, he won the gold champion title for junior stallions both times. These results drew international attention to this young Belgian stallion, and by the end of 2014 he was sold to the Al Muawd stable in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In 2015, now under his new home’s name, Emerald J won the gold stallion championship at the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship; a dual honor that included both the adult stallion championship and the 4- to 6-year-old age division championship. He continued to compete at older ages as well, and in 2017 at the Chantilly AHO World Cup & Breeders' Championship Europe he took first place in the stallions 7 years and over division.

By 2023, now owned by the Al Rajhiyat stable under the management of Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al-Rajhi, Emerald J was named platinum stallion champion at the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Arabian Horse Festival (PSAIAHF), one of the Gulf region’s most prestigious events; a crown that brought a brilliant chapter of a long and continuous journey to its peak.

But perhaps Emerald J’s greatest legacy lies in his role as a purebred stallion. His offspring have won titles such as Triple Crown, Paris, Europe, All Nations Cup, Menton, Dubai and international champion; the most notable of them is Gallardo J, the son of the mare Gomera J, who won the European Triple Crown championship and the European and Chantilly yearling colt championship. Other notable offspring include Mounira J, Emerald Girl M, Emeralda Al Azure, Esperranzza and Ernando AA.

Breed records list hundreds of foals born between 2013 and 2024; offspring that have spread the classicism of the Polish “E” line and the type and presence of the Marwan Al Shaqab line in breeding programs across Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.

With an illustrious record in his youth, a prestigious career in adulthood that culminated in the PSAIAHF Platinum Crown in 2023, and a prolific, champion-producing offspring, Emerald J is considered one of the most influential contemporary show stallions of the Arabian breed, from the line of QR Marc and Marwan Al Shaqab.
